99coffee
A moment to unwind in the city.
Located in Nishi-Oi, Shinagawa, 99coffee serves four house drip blends brewed with precise temperatures and timings, along with lattes, bagels, and rice-flour cookies. House-roasted beans are also available to take home.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
A defining appeal of 99coffee is the ability to choose from blends with distinctly defined flavor profiles to match your mood or preference on any given day. Anchoring the drip menu are four original blends, each brewed to order with carefully calibrated brew times and water temperatures. Built on a base of Brazilian and Colombian beans, the 99 Original Blend Coffee delivers a mild, approachable cup with a balanced interplay of acidity and bitterness. Those seeking deeper body and pronounced bitterness can opt for the Mandheling blend, while the Mocha and Kilimanjaro blends offer a brighter, sweet-tart fruitiness, giving diners clear, distinct profiles to choose among.
Beyond pour-over drip coffee, the counter offers café lattes made by pairing milk with espresso extracted from a dark-roast original blend, as well as cold-brew iced coffee slowly extracted using a drip method. Options like decaffeinated coffee for moments when you prefer less caffeine and organic coffee for an easy-drinking profile accommodate different times of day and personal needs.
Alongside the drinks is a selection of light fare, including bagels appreciated for their chewy texture and butter-free rice flour and oatmeal koji cookies. Seating is provided inside, offering a calm spot to sit down and take a pause. Drinks can also be ordered for takeout, and house-roasted beans are available in 100g or 200g portions—either whole-bean or ground—allowing visitors to recreate their preferred cup at home.
